Learning to Blog 101

City's Gate Worship Team:

I set up this blog so we can give and receive feedback from one another.

First, you'll need to set up a blogger account.

Right click on the 'Blogger' link in the upper left corner of the screen and open the link in a new window (that way you can keep on using this window as a tutorial).

Create a new 'blogger' account. They will ask you to set up your OWN blog, which you will probably have to do... but you won't ever need to post on this blog.

After you have successfully created your account, please e-mail me (daniel.kearns@gmail.com) and tell me the e-mail address you used when you signed up for your account. I will then confer 'posting privileges' upon your account.

Once you have 'posting privileges', login to your blogger account (you can go to www.blogger.com, or simply go to http://citysgateworship.com and login at the top).

Note that 'City's Gate Worship Team' will be one of your listed 'blogs'. Click on 'City's Gate Worship Team' and you will be taken to the 'posting' section of the blog.

I advise the worship leaders to create a new post every Sunday they lead. Here, they can tell us a few comments concerning the reasons they picked the songs, how they think everything went, etc.

Please do NOT edit someone else's post, nor should you mess with the 'settings' or 'template' tabs.

Simply click 'Create a New Post' and type up your thoughts... then be sure to click 'Publish Post' when you're finished.

The majority of the time, we will simply 'comment' on a worship leader's post. To do this, simply go to the blog's main site (http://citysgateworship.blogspot.com).

At the bottom of each post, click on the 'x comments' link. Here you can read the comments other worship members have already left. Type your own comment, login (if you aren't already logged in!) and post your comment.

This should be all the information you need to start blogging!

Note that I also put some links on the side of this blog... if anyone has ideas for other useful links, let me know and I will add them.
